4 Months

Today Shelby is 4 months old and as grandma Leyendecker told me it seems longer than that. I am starting to forget what life was like before her. As Ross posted in the last blog we were all feeling better and then the next morning Shelby woke up with a congestive cough and runny nose. We have been dealing with that ever since. I did read online that RSV and its symptoms can last for 15 days! Shelby had her 4 month check up today which worked out really nice so the doctor could also check out her congestion. Since she was due for 4 more shots I talked grandma into going with us, so I again did not have to witness her being stuck with needles! Shelby weighed 15 lbs. 12 ozs. 90th percentile and was 27 inches long, she once again did not register on the height chart. She is really growing like a little weed and is in 9-12 month old clothes. She has a couple of 6 month outfits that still barely fit. The doctor said she just has a little mucus in her nose so the rsv is pretty much over. He did say that 30-40% of babies that have RSV will develop asthma when they get older. Also, the doctor said at her 6 month visit she will be able to begin to eat cereal and then baby food. Sounds like fun to me! Shelby got her shots and was not happy but is sleeping now.
